We created a SMS Marketing Platform, which integrates with many other platforms (provisioning, sms gateways, etc). PostgreSQL is being used as a database, and RabbitMQ for message queueing.

More than 1 billion messages were sent since launch, with a possible max rate of 2K+ messages per second.
